MCAS Score Reports

Earlier today, students received their MCAS Score Reports. These score reports are paper copies and contain important information in regard to high school graduation requirements. Please review and seek out your student’s guidance counselor if you have any questions.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Conferences provide an opportunity for parents/guardians to meet with teachers. Conferences are in-person at AHS on Thursday, October 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

This year appointments will be made through SignUp Genius. Here’s how to do so:

  • Use Aspen (or talk to your child) to look up the teachers you want to visit

  • Go to our SignUp Genius portal: AHS Conference Portal

  • Find teachers by last name by scrolling or using the search bar

  • Once the name is found, click on it, and then select the desired appointment time

    • Be sure to click “save and continue” at the bottom of the page once the time is selected

  • Submit your name, your email, and your student’s name to finalize your appointment

  • Complete this process for each teacher you want to see

Important Notes

  • Appointments are five minutes in length

  • When scheduling, be sure to allow time for walking between classrooms

  • If you have any questions, please contact your student’s house office.

See below for tips on how to get the most out of conferences, including guides to the learning standards and how to prepare for productive time with your student’s teacher.

Progress Reports

On Wednesday, we digitally shared trimester one progress reports with students and families. Here’s how to access them:

  • STEP 1: Log into your Aspen family account (https://ma-attleboro.myfollett.com) and click the “Pages” top tab.

  • STEP 2: Find the Published Reports heading on the main page.

  • STEP 3: Click the Progress Report under that heading.

If you have concerns about your student’s performance in any class, please contact the teacher. T1 ends in early December, so there is still plenty of time to improve performance.

Grade Scale Updates

We have shared multiple updates about our new grade scale and wanted to put them all in a single spot.

We also wanted to make you aware of an issue affecting how grades appear on Aspen’s mobile website when viewed on a phone or tablet. Please note that this is not an issue on a laptop or desktop device. Here’s what’s happening:

  • On the main Grades page (the landing screen after you log in), grades display correctly — for example: 3.0 = B

  • However, when you select a specific class and select “Grade Details” to view individual assignment scores, you may notice percentages that appear unusually low (for example, showing a “46.5%” next to a grade that otherwise reads “2.0 C”).

  • These percentages do not reflect your student’s actual grade. They are a display error on the mobile site only.

  • Grades viewed through the full desktop version of Aspen are accurate and up to date.

We want to assure families that this issue is not related to our new  4.3 grading scale, which is working correctly in Aspen. Teachers, counselors, and administrators all see accurate grades when using the full site.  Use these directions to change your mobile view to see accurate grades.

Candidates’ Forum

On Monday, October 27, the AHS Student Council is hosting a candidates’ forum. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the event starts at 6:00 in the Robert H. Bray Auditorium. The public is warmly invited to attend. This is not only a great opportunity to learn more about the candidates in our upcoming municipal election but also see our students in action as they are moderating the event. We hope you can make it! Click here for more information: https://ahs.attleboroschools.com/o/ahs/article/2492468

Notice from the School Nurses

The school nurses will be available during conferences on Thursday night. Families are welcome to visit the Nurse’s Office in room B-205 at any time during conferences if you have:

  • Paperwork that needs to be completed with the nurses

  • Medication to drop off

  • Health-related questions or concerns

We look forward to seeing you!

Grade 9 Postural Screenings

We will be conducting postural screenings for all 9th grade students in November. This is not a diagnostic service but a required screening that is a routine part of our health program aimed at identifying any potential postural issues early on. If your child has any unusual findings, you will be notified and advised to take your child to a physician for further evaluation. If you have any questions/concerns or do not want your child screened, please feel free to reach out via email at AHSNurses@attleboroschools.com
