Attleboro is a small city (27.51 square miles) located 45 minutes south of Boston on the Rhode Island border, making it both a municipality of Massachusetts and a suburb of Providence. With over 42,000 people, Attleboro is a diverse city in terms of culture, race, and income. Once known as the Jewelry Capital of America, Attleboro is evolving into a city with more varied industries.

Graduation Requirements for the Class of 2026
Students need a minimum of 170 credits including 24 credits in each of the core subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Students must also attain 8 credits in PE/Health, 12 credits in World Language, and 6 credits in Visual/Performing Arts.
Students are required to pass specific courses in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies to graduate:
English: English I, II, III and IV.
Math: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II
Science: Physics, Biology
Social Studies: World History, United States History II

Attleboro High School offers two levels of courses: College Preparatory and Honors/Advanced Placement/Dual Enrollment.

This special diploma is awarded to students who meet the following standards:
Unweighted GPA of 3.7
Demonstrated competency in four collegiate course equivalents (AP, DE, CTE Level III)
Super-score of 1250 on SAT exam
Minimum score of 3 on all AP exams (one score of 2 is allowed with course teacher recommendation)
40 Certified Hours of Community Service
Participation in at least two after-school activities each year
Commitment to one activity for at least three years

Career and Technical Education (CTE)
All CTE programs are in three sequential levels: Level I (Sophomores), Level 2 (Juniors), and Level 3 (Seniors).
Each of these programs has a possibility of a Cooperative Education (Co-op) placement in the senior year. At graduation, qualified students receive a CTE certificate in addition to their diploma.
CTE Programs are offered in Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Computer Information Systems, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Digital Media Production, Early Education & Care, Electrical Technology, Engineering, Environmental, Graphic Design & Communications, HVAC, Marketing, Medical Assisting, Metal Fabrication, Plumbing Technology, and Robotics.
Grade Scale Change Effective for the 2025-2026 School Year
As of September 2, 2025, Attleboro High School has switched from a 100 point grade scale to a 4.3 grade scale. For this year’s seniors, their grades 9-11 were on the 100 point scale, with 45 being the lowest grade possible. Grades 59 and below were considered failing. Moving forward, grades will be on a 4.3 scale. The overall GPA reported on the transcripts remains unweighted and conversions have already been calculated to a 4.3 scale. Decile Rank remains weighted, and will be reported on the transcript.
