Welcome AHS families to the 2023-2024 school year.

We are excited to begin year two in our community flagship building. The learning environment and opportunities we have here at AHS are unique within our state and region. We are extremely grateful to our Attleboro community for the privilege of calling this ours.

We will send out weekly updates every Friday once the school year begins. We know it's important for families to feel connected and informed. Please know you can always reach out with any specific questions or concerns. We will also post daily pictures of life within AHS on our website (https://ahs.attleboroschools.com/o/ahs) and through our app (more on that below). Here you can follow the day-to-day learning and events that represent what occurs in our school community.

New School Year Information

Please see this webpage for a variety of information regarding the start of the new school year: https://www.attleboroschools.com/o/apswc/page/for-families-aps-welcome

Free / Reduced Lunch Applications

Much like the transportation application process, we will not be sending home paper copies of the SY 23-24 Free/Reduced Lunch applications this year. We will be sending out a series of notifications to families with this information and it is included in the New School Year Information document above. We will send a small number of paper applications to each building so that you have them available if they are requested. Lunch applications can be completed online and are found on the Food Services webpage here: https://attleboropsma.sites.thrillshare.com/o/aps/page/food-services2

For new families we would like to introduce our administrative staff. We are a very large school and have many faces and roles to support our students. We want families to feel comfortable knowing  who they can reach out to with questions, concerns or positive celebrations.  You will also hear from your students' teachers once school begins. We all look forward to building relationships and getting to know our students and their families.

Academic Schedules

Student schedules will be shared via Aspen on the afternoon of August 24. For those who requested particular electives or honors courses, we consider many different factors when scheduling students into classes. Data points taken into consideration include things such as teacher recommendations, standardized test scores (e.g. MCAS), attendance, and grades. Please know that we do our best to fulfill requests and place students appropriately.

Athletics

We know that many of you may be seeking more information about sports. There is an array of athletics information on this webpage: https://ahs.attleboroschools.com/o/ahs/page/athletics

Communication

We are transitioning away from email as a primary communication platform.  We will be using our new website and its communication features to share messaging with students and families. If you haven’t already done so, please download the app designed for mobile devices (and be sure notifications are turned on). It’s everything AHS in your pocket:

Once you have downloaded the app, please be sure to:

  • Turn on Notifications (sometimes you must go to the Settings app on your phone)

  • Select “Attleboro High School” as your school (you can select multiple schools)
