Dear AHS Students, Families, and Community,
Welcome back to Attleboro High School! I hope you have enjoyed the summer and are looking forward to the start of what will prove to be a wonderful school year. Our dedicated AHS staff has been hard at work preparing for the arrival of our students on the first day of school, August 31st.
This year, we are especially excited to spotlight the incredible work of our students. At AHS, our students demonstrate excellence not only in the classroom, but also through their contributions to our community, their extracurricular activities, and their athletic accomplishments. Their creativity, leadership, perseverance, and commitment are tremendous assets to Attleboro, and we look forward to celebrating and sharing their many successes throughout the year.
As a veteran principal who is also new to Attleboro Public Schools, I could not be more thrilled to join this outstanding community. I am honored to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team of educators and staff, and I am equally excited to learn from and work with our dynamic students, staff, families, and the wider leadership team.
Please know that we will always welcome your feedback, ideas, and partnership as we continue to consider how Attleboro High School can best serve our students and our community. We will continue to build upon the many strengths already present at AHS and continue in the good work establishing our school as both an asset to our community and visionary high school within Massachusetts.
Most importantly, please know that the privilege of educating your children will never be taken lightly or for granted. We recognize the trust you place in us each day, and we are committed to making AHS a place where every student is known, valued, challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

The First Day
Our first day of school for students is Monday, August 31. We can’t wait to greet you!
6:45 - doors open
7:10 - warning bell
7:15 - first period begins (students should be in classrooms)
1:50 - dismissal

Student Cell Phone Policy Reminder
To ensure that students remain focused and engaged during lessons, all cell phones will be placed in classroom cell phone pouches during academic time. This policy is in place to minimize distractions and create the best possible learning environment and is the same as last year’s.
Students will have access to their phones during designated times, such as lunch breaks, before and after school, and in between classes. Parents/guardians: we ask that all communication during class time go through the house office. If you need to reach your student during school hours, please contact your student's house office directly. We will promptly relay any urgent messages. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a productive learning space for all students.

Student Parking
Student drivers need to register their vehicles to be able to park on campus. To do so, please complete this registration form: Student Parking Registration. The registration form includes a number of details related to parking. Please read carefully. Students must be logged into their @attleborops.net accounts to complete the form and must do so by Thursday, Sept 3 to be guaranteed a parking sticker for this school year. For the first week student drivers can park on campus in two lots: Lot C and Lot D.
Lot C is shared between staff and students. Students can only park in the designated area. See image below.
Lot D is accessible at the junction of Bushee and Verndale Streets. Students may park in any available spot.
Students CANNOT park in Lot A, Lot B, or in front of the main entrance. Parking in these areas may result in loss of parking privileges.
If all Lot C and D spaces are full, students may park in the spaces adjacent to the Drummond Street fields.
Students should not park on neighboring roads.

Getting to and from School
Please see below for in-depth information regarding student parking, pick-up, and drop off.
Below are directions for families who will be dropping off or picking up their children. Please be patient as new families get acclimated to our systems. It is important for all drivers to follow the directions of AHS staff directing cars as this allows the flow of traffic to move safely and efficiently.
Student Drop-off and Pick-up
We will have TWO different drop-off locations, one in front of the school and the other in the back.
FRONT OF SCHOOL
Once you enter the driveway, form two lines.
Do NOT stop directly in front of the main doors. This will cause a bottleneck/traffic jam.
There are two drop-off zones. One before the main doors and one after.
Keep your vehicle window open to help with communication.

Drive carefully. This is new for many of you!
Regarding pick-up at 1:50: do NOT block through traffic at the rotary located at Rathbun Willard and Rome.

BACK OF SCHOOL (Lot D/Bushee Lot)
Drop-off only; no dismissal pick up,
Enter at the Verndale - Bushee Street junction.
Follow the traffic flow pattern as indicated.
Students exit vehicles closest to the sidewalk.
Cars MUST exit Lot D the same way they came in. Cars will NOT be allowed to exit through D heading towards Rathbun Willard Drive. This is for the safety of students walking and driving.

Families should not
Pull into parking spots to drop off students.
Drop students off at the rotary or on the side of the road (use the on campus locations we offer) or at Brennan Middle School.
Drop off students on neighboring roads or idle/double park on these roads (let’s be good neighbors). 🙂

Freshmen News Reminder
We have two important updates for our incoming freshmen and their families.
Chromebook Distribution - Monday, August 24, from 9:00 to 11:00
Students should bring their old Chromebooks and chargers and exchange them for new ones (if they did do so at their middle school in June).
If you cannot make it on Monday, then you can get your Chromebook at Freshmen Orientation.
Recommended distribution times
9:00 - last name A through C
9:30 - last name D through L
10:00 - last name M through P
10:30 - last name Q through Z
Freshmen Orientation - Wednesday, August 26, at 6:00 pm
Families can park at the front or rear of the building.
Students who weren’t able to get Chromebooks on Monday, August 24, will have a chance to do so starting at 5:30 on August 26
Student MCAS Results Available
Massachusetts Commissioner Martinez has announced that families can now access their child's MCAS results online. You can read the Commissioner's full letter here: https://www.doe.mass.edu/mcas/family-portal/access/.
