Chromebook Powerwashing - Student Action May Be Required
MCAS season is quickly approaching. To ensure that all student devices are ready for testing, AHS will be conducting a Chromebook reset (often referred to as “Powerwashing”) at school on Tuesday, March 10.
During this time, students will be asked to restart their school-issued devices and follow the instructions provided. The system will then complete its reset sequence. The entire process should take approximately 10 minutes.
Before this date, students should move any files saved directly on their device to their Google drives. Please note that projects or assignments stored in the “Downloads” folder will not be saved and will be permanently removed during the reset.
We appreciate your cooperation and attention as we prepare for this important testing season. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
MCAS Starts Soon
We wanted to remind everyone that grade 9 and 10 students will be taking the MCAS later this spring. We encourage families to discuss the following points with their students:
All grade 10 (ELA and math) and 9 (science) students are required to take the test. This is mandatory. There is no opt out.
MCAS provides opportunities for our students.
The state will still grant the MCAS-based Adams and Koplik scholarships.
Scores will help determine eligibility for honors and AP courses.
Scores will help determine honors diploma eligibility.
MCAS results count in the state’s accountability system. AHS will be evaluated as a school on how our students do on MCAS.
MCAS data will be used to help determine academic interventions for students and guide curricular and instructional decisions so we can better educate our students.
We know students have been making great strides this year. Please encourage your child to do their best. The ELA test is first up and begins on March 24. If you have any questions about MCAS, please reach out to us.
SAT Schoolday - Payment Needed
Grade 11 students who registered for the April 2026 SAT Schoolday administration were sent emails yesterday confirming their registration. The email also included a link to pay for the test using MySchoolBucks as a link to access College Board's preparation materials. Please reach out to Robin Frank at rfrank@attleboroschools.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Trimester Two Grades Are Closing Soon
Friday, March 20, is the last day of trimester two. Please see our prior updates regarding our expectations regarding missing/late work and assessment retakes. We want everyone to have a positive end of trimester experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student’s teachers.
