Unanticipated School Cancellation
If an unanticipated school cancellation occurs (e.g. a snow day), the odd and even day calendar will remain the same. For example, if there is a snow day on a Monday and it is an even day, when we return on Tuesday it will be an odd day.
Freshmen CTE Selections
Freshmen students will be asked to make their CTE selections next week. Exploratory and Band/Chorus teachers will be sharing the selection form and instructions with students. The form can only be submitted once and must be filled out by January 30th. All freshmen must complete the form even if they are not planning to take a CTE - the form allows students to opt out.
Spring SAT School Day
This spring we are offering grade 11 students the option to take the SAT during the school day. We plan to administer the test on Wednesday, April 15. This is a convenient alternative to the Saturday administration as it can help you minimize the need to juggle work and other weekend commitments.
This test will be administered digitally. Students will use their own school-issued device. To register, please complete THIS FORM by February 13. DO NOT REGISTER THROUGH COLLEGE BOARD FOR THIS ADMINISTRATION.
The cost of the exam is $60. The College Board does not allow SAT fee waivers for school day administrations. Once your test is ordered, you will be notified where and how to pay for your exam. Please keep in mind that this is an optional exam.
If you have questions about the SAT School Day or college and career planning, please reach out to me or your child’s counselor—we’re here to help!
Grade 10 Health Screenings
Our school nurses will be conducting state mandated vision, hearing, and BMI (height & weight) screenings for all 10th grade students during the week of February 9-13. These screenings are part of our routine health assessments to help ensure the well-being of all students. If you would like to opt your child out of these screenings, please contact the school nurses directly at AHSNurses@attleboroschools.com by February 6, 2026. Thank you for your cooperation.
Grade 9 SBIRT Screening
Families of grade 9 students are encouraged to visit the SBIRT Health Screening page for information regarding the upcoming SBIRT screening. This state mandated screening is used to screen for alcohol, nicotine, tobacco, and other drug use. If you have questions please reach out to Julie Little at jlittle@attleboroschools.com.
Reminder: Grade 9 Residency Verification
All students in grade 9 must complete the Residency Verification upload by March 1, 2026. Instructions and frequently asked questions can be found here: https://www.attleboroschools.com/o/apswc/page/grade-59-residency-verification
Reminder: Course Requests and Student Appeals
Grade 9-11 students who requested advanced level coursework (Honors or AP), but did not receive a teacher recommendation may submit an appeal application. The deadline to complete the application is Monday, February 2. This is a firm deadline and no exceptions can be made as the school must move forward with building our schedule for next year. Students and families should refer to THIS DOCUMENT for specific details regarding the appeals process.
