Next Week

We have five days of school next week with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) visiting us on Wednesday.

DESE Honor and Visit

The Executive Office of Education has reached out to AHS asking us if we would like to host the Graduation Council’s launch of its new Vision of a Massachusetts Graduate on Wednesday, Sept 24. Of course, we said yes! From DESE: “Attleboro High School really stands out… given your high standards for coursework for all students, your strong portrait of a graduate, and your engagement in many different Reimagining High School initiatives such as Career and Technical Education… and Early College.” We are honored by their recognition. This is a really big deal and a tribute and validation of all of our community’s hard work to make AHS the great place that it is. What a tremendous accolade. All members of the AHS community should be proud! We are all part of a high school that DESE considers an exemplar!

Student Parking - C Lot Closed on Wednesday, Sept 24

Due to the number of guests attending the DESE press conference in Bray, C Lot will be closed to students on Wednesday. Students can park in D Lot or in the Highland Lot off Rathbun Willard Drive. Please allow yourself extra time to avoid tardiness. As a reminder, students are not allowed to park in A Lot, B Lot, or the Principal’s Lot as these spaces are all reserved for staff members and any violation may result in the loss of parking privileges.

Reminder: PSAT and SAT Sign-Up

Juniors and seniors who are interested in taking the PSAT or SAT, respectively, must sign-up via the forms below:

Both tests will occur on Oct 24 during the school day. You must complete the above form by Sept 26 to reserve your spot. This is a great opportunity for our upperclassmen. Don’t miss out! More information on the (P)SAT can be found in our Sept 12 update.

Financial Aid Night

We enjoyed meeting with the senior class this past Tuesday during X Block to discuss the upcoming college and career process. Our next step is to include parents and guardians in the discussion. Our Senior Planning & Financial Aid Night is Wednesday, September 25, at 6:00 in Bray Auditorium. This event is open to all seniors and their parents/guardians and will provide an overview of the college and career process. As a reminder, please enter through the back entrance by the cafeteria.
