Grade 11 Students: PSAT Opportunity
AHS is proud to offer the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to our students. Whether you are thinking about attending a two or four year college, a job training program, or aren't sure what you want to do after high school, the PSAT/NMSQT can help make your career goals and postsecondary path clearer. If juniors are interested in taking the PSAT, they should complete this form: PSAT Opt-in.
Results from the PSAT/NMSQT provide insights into your academic strengths, along with areas you can work on while still in high school. Additionally, most AHS students take the PSAT in grade 10. Taking this exam again in grade 11 will help you be able to see your progress from last year.
Taking the PSAT/NMSQT can also help you to:
Enter the National Merit Scholarship Program if you meet program requirements specified in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.
Understand your skills and knowledge and which areas to focus on improving.
Practice and prepare for the SAT.
Find out what AP or honors courses you may be ready to take.
Plan and pay for college.
Explore personalized career insights that align to your score.

Grade 9 CTE Update - Technical Exploratory Grading
Students completed their first Exploratory rotation today. Congratulations! This year, we will be grading freshman Exploratory students on a pass/fail basis for each rotation and for the course. This means that the Exploratory grade will not count towards a student's grade point average. The Exploratory grade will continue to hold weight on the student’s application for a CTE program.
Teacher - Family Communication
It was great to see so many families at Back to School Night! Let’s keep communicating! Rooms, which is part of our APS digital app, is a two-way communication platform between teachers and families. Please click this link to learn more: https://www.attleboroschools.com/page/rooms-support. Included in the link is a helpful ~90 second video. Teachers will be using this app to communicate with you!
Morning Student Drop-off
We have two different morning drop-off locations for students, one in front of the school in the loop and the other in the back in lot D. Students should not be dropped off in any staff parking lots on either side of the building (Lots A, B or C) or in the bus loop.
Student Parking
Students have been receiving their parking decals this past week. Students will need to bring their car registration to receive their decal. Last year’s decals will not be accepted for the 2025-26 school year. New decals must be obtained in order to park on the AHS campus.
Attendance Reminder
We know that families play an essential role in reinforcing timely and regular student attendance. Visit the links below for some tips on encouraging and supporting your student. As a reminder, all APS Attendance Policies can be found in the student handbooks.
Tips for Middle and High School
National Suicide Prevention Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention, and crisis resources. The link to the website is here: https://988lifeline.org/ Next week in advisory we will share this resource with students and remind them of the building-based supports that are available to them every day. If you have any questions, please contact your house AP.
Grant Supported Counseling Services Opt-Out
During the 2025-2026 school year, Attleboro Public Schools is partnering with the Justice Resource Institute (JRI), through a grant to promote health and wellness in our school. The grant provides students access to individual and/or group counseling, at no cost to families or the school district. Services are delivered by JRI clinicians and take place during the school day either in-person or virtually. Students are identified for these services by members of the AHS Student Support Team. Once referrals are received by JRI, parent contact is made to discuss service options and to gain secondary consent before services are delivered. If you have any questions regarding these services or this opt-out form, please contact Athena Sullivan at (508) 222-5150 ext. 20038 or asullivan@attleboroschools.com. If you do NOT want your child to be referred for these grant-supported services, please complete the opt-out form below by September 26, 2025. This JRI Consent Form linked here is effective from the day it is received by the school and will remain in effect for the duration of the 2025-2026 school year.
