AHS had a great first week! We spent time building positive relationships and routines, and class locations are getting easier to find every day. Students' smiles and positive feedback are being seen and heard. We held our first fire evacuation drill today and the AFD was impressed with the efficiency and speed of our very large school. Please talk to your child about things they experienced this week. Also encourage your child to get involved with the many clubs and activities that will be starting up over the next few weeks. Our goal is for every student to feel connected to the opportunities and interests that live here at AHS.
Next Week
We have five days of school next week with Back to School Night on Thursday. Please see below for details.
Back To School Night
Our annual Back to School Night is next Thursday, September 11, starting at 6:00. The purpose of this evening is for parents and guardians to be introduced to their student’s teachers as well as receive information about the courses in which their student is enrolled.
Parking is available in the lots on either side of the building as well as behind the building. Please do not park on neighborhood streets.
Please enter through our main doors at the front of the building (by the flag poles) or through the cafeteria doors (under the big Blue A) at the back of the building.
It is recommended that you bring a screenshot or paper copy of your student’s schedule to follow. Please talk to your student about their classes and the order in which they take them.
Here is a map of the entire building: AHS MAP.
The intended audience for this evening is parents/guardians; families may bring children if that is what’s best for them.
The Admin Team will be available in common spaces and in House Offices (second floor) throughout the evening.
If you need access to an elevator, there is one in the main lobby.
The intention of this event is for teachers to introduce themselves to families and share general information about their classes. As such, parents and guardians will follow their student’s schedule (all eight periods). Here’s the class schedule for the evening:
AHS Student Handbook and Corresponding Policies
The APS Student Handbooks and corresponding policies are available on our website here: APS Student Handbooks. Please review these documents and complete the acknowledgement form that is in Aspen. Here are directions for how to complete the handbook acknowledgement workflow: Student Handbook Acknowledgment Directions. Thank you in advance for reviewing the handbook and completing the acknowledgement form!
School Picture Day
On Wednesday, September 17, Attleboro High School, in partnership with Lifetouch, will be holding our annual picture day. Order forms will be available for students in their X-Block class, their house office, the Student Activities Office, the Balcony and the Principal's office. All students will be required to have a picture taken for use in Aspen. We look forward to seeing those smiles!
Blue Pride Ambassadors Club (BPAC)
The BPAC is a group open to AHS parents, guardians and staff with the purpose of enhancing educational and other opportunities for the entire school community. Last school year the group was re-structured and in later fall began actively meeting and fundraising for student and staff programming (scholarships, Staff Appreciation). New members are always welcome and are invited to attend the first meeting of the year on 9/9/25 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Student Activities Office (SAO) and can be accessed through the front main entrance of the school. Please join us as we work toward expanding the group and planning this year’s goals for our students and staff.
