We had a great two days at AHS celebrating and showing our school spirit. Please ask your child about our new event Attleboro Family Feud as there was a lot of laughter and team spirit. AHS students continue to shine in how they treat one another and their school community during special events. AHS wishes all our families and friends a relaxing and enjoyable Thanksgiving break!
Next Week and Beyond
When we return from Thanksgiving break on Monday, December 2, we will have three weeks of school until our next break. Please note that Friday, December 6, is a half day for students (lunch will not be served) as it marks the end of trimester one. See the calendar below for details.
Trimester One Grades Are Closing
Friday, December 6, is the last day of trimester one. When students return on Monday, December 2, they will have one week before grades close. Please see our prior updates regarding our expectations regarding missing/late work and assessment retakes. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student’s teachers.
CTE Update
Students from the AHS SkillsUSA Chapter participated in the State Leadership Conference in Marlborough, MA this past weekend. The purpose of the conference is to help students become effective leaders. Our students worked with leaders from multiple industries, heard from distinguished guest speakers including Senator Patrick O’Connor, and learned about the resources that SkillsUSA offers to CTE students. We competed against schools who brought up to 30 students and are veterans of this conference. For AHS, this was the first time any of our seven students participated. We are very excited to announce that the following AHS students were recognized and won some very prestigious awards:
Fatima Noor- Gold leadership award
Jane’n Jie Philemond- Leadership award
Jeremy Aguiar: Leadership award
Sophie Newman: Leadership award and Personal Skills MVP Award
Casper Lennox: Community Service Project Rising Star Award
SkillsUSA is bringing a new state competition to Massachusetts this year, the competition is in the construction trade and is called Commercial Roofing. The advisors from each school competed and out of over 40 SkillsUSA Advisors, our very own took home the following awards:
Mrs. Espinal: Bronze Medal in Commercial Roofing Presentation
