10.4.24
On Monday, September 30, Attleboro High School hosted its annual College and Career Fair. Our students were fortunate to be part of our largest college and career fair in school history with over 100 colleges, military branches, and career institutions in attendance. We were fortunate to have colleges as far away as Florida and Alabama and as close as UMASS and URI, several of our military branches, and many of our valued community partners including APD, AFD, and Larson Tool and Stamping. Seniors and juniors were able to spend valuable time with representatives to assist them in making decisions on college and careers. As a comprehensive high school, we are able to offer our students vast opportunities. These opportunities range from core academics to electives, to 19 Career and Technical Education programs. All these programs prepare students for both college and the world of work.

Mock Election
This year students will be participating in the National Student Mock Election. This is a non-partisan educational program endorsed by both Democrats and Republicans. It is not intended to be predictive of adult voting patterns. As part of the Mock Election, students will be discussing voting and leadership. We invite you to share your thoughts about these subjects with your child in a conversation.
Potential Family Discussion Topics:
What makes a good leader?
What have you learned about voting and how it works?
What do you take into account in deciding which candidate to vote for?
Students will vote the week of October 14 in social studies courses. All results for the school will be tabulated and transmitted to John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, where they will be totaled for the state of Massachusetts and then sent to the National Headquarters. In some social studies courses, students will also explore and vote on state officials and ballot questions. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s social studies teacher.
Picture Retake Day
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Lifetouch will be back at the High School for picture retakes. As in years past, picture retakes are available for students who were absent on Picture Day (September 18), new students to the district since September 18, and any student whose family purchased a photo package and wishes to have their photo taken again. Students in the last category must bring their photo package with them (or if you purchased a digital package, they must have proof of purchase).
If you purchased a package and wish to have your student’s photo taken again, please register them on this form. Students who were absent will automatically be registered. Anyone not registered or who does not have a purchased package will not be allowed to have their photo taken. If you have any questions, please free to contact Gina Spencer at 508-222-5150, Ext. 20019 or gspencer@attleboroschools.com.
