Grade 10 MCAS

We will be administering the Math MCAS test on Tuesday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 17.   Testing will begin for both tests at 7:30 AM.  In preparation for this test, here are a few timely reminders:

  • MCAS counts! It is a graduation requirement. Demonstrating competency on MCAS is one of the state requirements for receiving a high school diploma. Do your best.

  • Bring your Chromebook. Students have school-issued Chromebooks and they must bring them fully charged on each testing day. It is also recommended that students bring their chargers.

Sophomores:  We believe you all have the ability to be successful on this test. Your teachers have worked hard to prepare you for this moment, and we’re sure that you have worked hard as well. Being successful on this test is a way for you to demonstrate BLUE PRIDE to yourself, your family, your teachers, and the whole school community. We all believe in you!

Sophomores: Here is a list of test room locations: Grade 10 Math MCAS Room Assignments

All other students: Please check with your teachers about room relocations during testing periods.

SBIRT Screening

Grade 9 families:  You should receive an email from the Attleboro Health Services about the upcoming SBIRT screening.  If you have questions please reach out to ahsnurses@attleboroschools.com.

More About Day 2 of MCAS

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) voluntary Views of Climate and Learning (VOCAL) survey is administered after the MCAS in the following grades and content areas: Grade 4 Mathematics, Grade 5 & 8 Science, and Grade 10 Mathematics. It is designed to provide schools with information on student perceptions of three dimensions of school climate (engagement, safety, and environment).

If you would like to learn more about this survey as well as the questions that are asked, please click on the following link: Views of Climate and Learning (VOCALS) Survey Project

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for your support.

We have a new student here at AHS. Her name is Shea and she is our new school therapy dog. Four determined students involved with the 2030 Project had a yearlong goal for a school therapy dog. These seniors created presentations, held meetings, did extensive research, surveyed the school community of staff and students for input etc…    Shea makes her rounds to see different students throughout the day and  gets requests to come attend class once in a while. Below is the video explaining how to create a school environment for a therapy dog. So far Shea has been doing a great job!
