1.6.23

Great week back at AHS! We started the new year off strong with some shifts to arrival and dismissal process. Thank you to the students for following the directions provided and finding the correct locations.  If you are dropping off your child, please do not use Green Drive as a pick up/drop off location. The building was designed with a pull-through driveway in front of the building. We are trying to be respectful of our neighbors who have been very patient throughout our building project.

As we enter the new year at AHS,  we continue to emphasize the importance of our school values. The entire staff and administration, in collaboration with students, have set high standards for ourselves and our school. Please ask your child how they can be a part of strengthening POSITIVITY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, DETERMINATION and EQUITY at AHS. Everyone in our school community is an important member and has the ability to make a difference. Together we are building a school community that allows us to engage, challenge and  inspire each other, while encouraging values that strengthens a culture we can all be proud to call ours.

Mayoral Debate

Great article in today’s newspaper about our Student Council hosting a mayoral debate. Click here to check it out: Mayoral debate set for Jan. 11 in Attleboro | Local News | thesunchronicle.com. Families are encouraged to attend this student organized event. Please check back to our website for more details regarding parking and other specifics early next week.

Attendance Update

Starting on Monday, January 9, Attleboro Public Schools will adjust the way attendance alerts are sent to a student’s contacts. Moving forward, the primary contact for any student who is marked absent will be sent a text and phone message, regardless if you have already notified the school. If you do not receive a message from the school, please reach out to the main office at your student’s school to confirm your mobile number is correct in our database. Alternatively, families may complete the “APS Student Contact Update” workflow in Aspen. Instructions on how to complete this workflow can be found here: https://5il.co/1ldxt

Next Week’s Schedule

There are five days of school next week with a half day for students on Friday.

Family Conferences

Save the date! Wednesday, January 18, from 6:00 to 8:00, we are hosting family conferences. Parents/guardians are encouraged to contact their teachers to schedule appointments. Guidance counselors and support staff will also be available for conferences. CLICK HERE for our staff directory.

We are looking forward to seeing more families and community members at AHS as our year progresses. Our flagship building continues to shine and become a part of our city’s culture. If you haven’t stopped by, you may want to check out our Blue Pride Bistro open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30-1:00.
