Happy Friday AHS families,

We had an exciting and eventful week here at Attleboro High School. Please ask your child about their week and how things are going.  Progress reports, CTE programs, extracurricular clubs and activities are great topics about how students are shining.

Next Week’s Schedule

November Calendar

School is only in session for three days next week for students. There is no school on Tuesday, November 8, due to teacher professional development,  and Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans’ Day. Please see the calendar below for all school days between now and the end of Trimester 1 on December 2.

Progress Reports

Earlier this week Progress Reports were published in Aspen. Please review this report with your child. Here’s how to access the report:

  • STEP 1: Log into your Aspen family account (https://ma-attleboro.myfollett.com) and click the “Pages” top tab.

  • STEP 2: Find the Published Reports heading on the main page.

  • STEP 3: Click the Progress Report under that heading.

If you have questions or concerns about your student’s grades and/or how to improve them, please contact your student’s teachers. They are ready and willing to help your child achieve their best possible results.

Arrival Time and Dismissals

Please speak to your child about the importance of coming to school on time. We have recently seen more tardies than usual. Attendance does impact student growth and success.

Student dismissals- we understand some appointments cannot be avoided. Please be cautious of planning appointments that could be done before/after school hours. Driving lessons during the school day would not be considered acceptable dismissals.

School Spirit

There has continued to be a positive energy around AHS. It is exciting to see the connections and discussions generated from students.  We have a beautiful new building where students are engaged, growing and learning. If your child isn’t involved with any after school activities please encourage them to do so. Now that we are here we want the students to feel this is their school and have a part of their school community.

Positive Referrals

After a few glitches in our ASPEN system, the positive referral system is working correctly. These student acknowledgements show effort that is being put forward, but also their part of making our school such a great place.

Staff Spotlight

Along with acknowledging students, we also want an avenue for AHS staff members for their dedication and efforts. If you would like to send a staff spotlight, feel free to use this link: Staff Spotlight.

Curriculum Connections

One of the initiatives we are working on this year is to help students make connections between their school work and life after school. As such, we are piloting a new program with Curriculum Connections. The mission of this work is to bring real world relevance to high school curricula through moderated conversations with a curated network of engaging, accomplished, and inspirational young professionals. Below is a photo of our first session.
