Grade 9 SBIRT Screening

Grade 9 families:  You should have received an email from Doug Heal about the upcoming SBIRT screenings.  If you have questions, including those about opting your student out of the screening, please reach out to dheal@attleboroschools.com or jlittle@attleboroschools.com

Grade 10 MCAS Reminder

All grade 10 students are taking the ELA (English Language Arts) MCAS next week on March 26 and 27.  In preparation for this test, here are a few timely reminders:

  • MCAS counts! It is a graduation requirement. Demonstrating competency on MCAS is one of the state requirements for receiving a high school diploma. Do your best.

  • HERE is a student friendly test room location document that shares where most grade 10 students will be testing.  A handful of students will be testing in rooms other than those indicated on this chart.  Those students will receive a pass in X block before they report to testing.

  • Bring your Chromebook. Students have school-issued Chromebooks and they must bring them fully charged on each testing day. It is also recommended that students bring their chargers.

Sophomores:  We believe you all have the ability to be successful on this test. Your teachers have worked hard to prepare you for this moment, and we’re sure that you have worked hard as well. Being successful on this test is a way for you to demonstrate BLUE PRIDE to yourself, your family, your teachers, and the whole school community. We all believe in you!

Big Shout out to Chef Sean O’Hara and his Whitson’s team for our first ever Beach Blanket Bingo Luncheon

Lunch extravaganza for our AHS students today! Brian Pappone, Sean O’Hara, Raffaella Place, and the Whitsons team of Randy Brouchu, Denis Gomez and Alyssa Charles  joined forces to make this magic happen.  After confirming with DESE, vetting the recipes with School Nutrition and making sure the menu meets National School Lunch Guidelines, the team created a very special student appreciation event. Aside from all the great food and beach décor, beach themed party packs were also raffled off. This was a great event for our school community!

Reminder: AP Testing Fees are Due

All students in AP courses are required to take the exam associated with the course. Last week, all students and families in AP courses were emailed invoices. If, for some reason, you did not receive an invoice or have a question about it, please contact Robin Frank at rfrank@attleboroschools.com. Thank you to all the students and families who have already paid their invoices!
