NEASC

As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in education, Attleboro High School is proud to announce our most recent  involvement with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accreditation process.

NEASC is a renowned accreditation organization that evaluates and supports the continuous improvement of schools. Attaining NEASC accreditation is a testament to our dedication to providing a high-quality learning environment for our students.

To gather your insights, we kindly request that you take a few moments to complete the NEASC Family Survey

On the night of  Family Conferences (January 18) we will be providing Chromebooks for families to take this survey. We are required to have 500 families complete this survey so we are asking that you take a few minutes in order to complete this request. Chromebooks will be located on the second floor near House Offices.

Your input will play a vital role in the accreditation process, shaping the future of Attleboro High School and ensuring that we continue to meet and exceed the highest standards of education.

DECA

As of last week’s District Conference,  AHS is now among the award recipients of DECA attention. AHS Marketing Department will be moving on to state level competition in Boston at the DECA State Conference in March.

DECA is a global organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in high schools and colleges for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through hands-on experiences, competitions, conferences, and leadership opportunities, DECA empowers students to develop crucial business skills, foster innovation, and network with professionals, equipping them for success in the business world.

We are excited to see how our students compete at the state level!

AHS Music Superstars

On Saturday, January 6, Genevive Chace, Elizabeth Kalish, and Cassandra Kun represented Attleboro in the Southeastern Massachusetts Music Educators Association Senior District Festival. Genny performed with the concert band, and Lizzy and Cassandra performed with the mixed chorus. This is a testament to their hard work and dedication as they advanced to this performance level.

Additionally, Michael D'Espinsoa won the 2024 Composition Award for his piece, Flower Garden Symphony. Way to go MJ!

Course Requests and Student Appeals

Grade 9-11 students who requested advanced level coursework (Honors or AP), but did not receive a teacher recommendation may submit an appeal application. The deadline to complete the application is Monday, January 29. This is a firm deadline and no exceptions can be made as the school must move forward with building our schedule for next year. Students and families should refer to THIS DOCUMENT for specific details regarding the appeals process.

Grade 9 Course Requests for CTE Programs

Grade 9 students will make Career and Technical Education (CTE) course/program requests later this month, January 29-31. Students will have an opportunity to do this in school. We advise students and families to discuss CTE options as students will be able to choose their top preferences.
