Blue Pride Night Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Wednesday at Blue Pride Night. It was energizing and exciting to see so many students and staff sharing special aspects of AHS. Having students align with city-wide community members was a nice addition. Many in attendance went out of their way to express the “positive vibe” they felt throughout the building.  Thank you for your commitment and dedication to our students and school. Your support and involvement in activities really makes a difference.

Next Week

We only have three days of school next week due to Election and Veterans’ Day.

  • Wednesday - Odd day

  • Thursday - Even Day

Pride Pantry

At AHS we understand these are difficult times for many of our families and we believe when a student’s basic needs are met they are able to learn and thrive. The PRIDE Pantry provides students in need with school supplies and toiletries in a confidential environment. In addition we have a small selection of new and gently used clothes.

Interested in having your student access the PRIDE Pantry and receive information on community-based resources? Please email pantry@attleboroschools.com and see the List of community resources.

Learning Snapshot

In the classroom: This week students from Joe Gorman’s Digital Storytelling class shared their work to fellow students and staff. The focus of the presentations was taking photographs from an array of angles and perspectives and the effects of these different shots on the viewer. Below is a small sampling.

“Moonlight.” The compositional techniques used are the focal point of the moon and the contrast of the dark sky, moon, and trees.

“Reflection.” The compositional techniques used are the angles with the camera being above the subject and the reflection provided by the window.
