9.1.23

Attleboro High School started the year with a vibe of positivity and excitement. Students were excited to see friends and staff and begin their new classes. It was great to hear so many students missed AHS over the summer. Please encourage your child to get involved this year. We have so many clubs and activities and sports that can make an individual feel even more connected to their school community. Upcoming information for starting dates for clubs and activities will be coming soon.

Next Week

We have four days of school next week.

  • Monday - No School

  • Tuesday - Odd Periods

  • Wednesday - Even Periods

  • Thursday - Odd

  • Friday - Even

Student Drop-off & Pick-up

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the first few days of school drop off and pick up. Please read the reminders below.

Front of the school drop off and pick up:

In the morning there are TWO lanes for drop off- follow the staff directing where to go. We are trying to move cars as safely and as quickly as possible when dropping off their children.

In the afternoon- there is only ONE lane for pick up. Please pull into the RIGHT lane when picking up in the front of the school. This allows cars to move into the left lane once they have their child. This system worked effectively and efficiently last year once everyone knew what to do.

Back of the school drop off and pick up:

If you use the Bushee Street entrance for pick up or drop off, please remember you must go out the same way you came into the lot.

Student Parking

We will soon begin the process of assigning parking spots for those students driving to school. Before any student receives a parking sticker they will need to register their car with the school. More information to follow.

Grade 11 PSAT Message Reminder

Reminder to Grade 11 students to complete the PSAT interest form by Tuesday, September 5 if you would like to take the PSAT at AHS during the school day. In addition to the benefits of taking the PSAT/NMSQT itself, this is a great opportunity to practice and prepare for the Digital SAT beginning in the spring.

If you have questions about the PSAT/NMSQT or college and career  planning, please reach out Robin Frank, test coordinator, (rfrank@attleboroschools.com)  or your child’s counselor—we’re here to help!

Community Resources

Visit the APS Community Fliers page to view the most recent events, opportunities, and resources happening within the Attleboro Community.

Communication

We are transitioning away from email as a primary communication platform.  We will be using our new website and its communication features to share messaging with students and families. If you haven’t already done so, please download the app designed for mobile devices (and be sure notifications are turned on). It’s everything AHS in your pocket:

Once you have downloaded the app, complete these two important steps:

  • Turn on Notifications (sometimes you must go to the Settings app on your phone)

  • Select “Attleboro High School” as your school (you can select multiple schools). You can also check the school events calendar for upcoming activities.
