Dear AHS Families, Alumni and
Visitors,
Welcome to Attleboro High
School where students, teachers, administrators, support personnel, and parents
exhibit all aspects of Blue Pride. For many
years, AHS has worked to provide a well-rounded and rigorous academic program
that is designed to meet the challenges of the future while forming
contributing members of our community.
Our commitment to a
standards-based academic program is reflected in a strong college preparatory
program, which includes many honors and Advanced Placement courses.
Students also have the opportunity to take accelerated classes through colleges
and universities. Just as important, as a comprehensive high school, Attleboro
High School looks to educate the whole person by also offering courses in
technology, art, business, choral and instrumental music, drama, physical
education. Our commitment to preparing our students for life beyond high school
is evidenced by the vast offering of courses offered by our Career and
Technical Education Program. The labs that we house for Criminal Justice,
Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Carpentry, Medical Assisting,
Automotive Technology, Visual/Graphic Arts, and our other CTE programs are some
of the best in New England.
Our school community is a
partnership with students and families. A well-rounded high school experience
includes active participation in extracurricular activities. Again, we
encourage students to become involved in our athletic programs, academic
competitions, visual and performing arts programs, student government, and
student clubs. In conjunction, we encourage parents to join a parent
club/organization that supports our school’s academic and extracurricular
programs. We have the Blue Pride Ambassadors Club, School Council,
Athletic Boosters, and various other parental outlets. Each of these
organizations provides support for our students and teachers.
Blue Pride is exhibited in the educational experience
at AHS. It permeates all that we say and do including providing a safe and
positive environment that promotes a climate of respect, a hunger for
achievement, and active participation in school activities. This website
is a snapshot of the entire school community. We encourage you to see all
that AHS has to offer. Additionally, our Student Handbook is posted so that you may review our
protocols, procedures, and useful information for the school year.
Our administration and staff is
student-oriented. If you are prepared to set high standards for yourself, work
hard, and become proud that you achieved your goals, then Attleboro High School
is the place for you!
If I can ever be of any
assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
In the strongest sense of Blue
Pride, I remain,
Bill Runey Principal
